Attention Anteaters,

Ever wonder who actually makes the executive decisions over how money is allocated at UCI?

This position is called the Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost (EVCP). And UCI is currently searching for candidates to fill the EVCP position.

This Monday, Oct. 1st from 5-6 PM @ the Education Building Rm 1111, students and other stakeholders will have the opportunity to make suggestions, ask questions, provide commentary about what you desire in an EVCP.

The Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost works extremely close with the Chancellor, oversees all the Deans of every school, administers the hiring of faculty, and directly executes the final decisions on UCI’s master budget (after hearing all recommendations from the Budget Working Group, Student Fee Advisory Committee, and other advisory groups). The decisions made by the EVCP directly impacts the lives of students, which makes this a critical opportunity to learn more and voice your opinions for the official search committee to hear.

The Search Committee consists of members such as Deans of various schools, a couple of your student representatives, and the Chancellor.  I urge you all, regardless of whether you feel that you can contribute or not, to attend this town hall because your presence and engagement truly matters. No one can speak on the students’ needs better than your own voices.

Please email me any further questions you may have at president@asuci.uci.edu.

In solidarity,
