Apply to be part of UCI’s student delegation to the United States Student Association’s first annual National Student Power Summit (formerly known as LegCon). After witnessing a powerful resurgence in student organizing across the nation this year, we are evolving to respond to new challenges and opportunities in the student movement. We are reimagining our spring convention as part of an ongoing effort to refocus our core values, governance structure, and operations to better serve the student movement.

We will be traveling to Washington, D.C., on Thursday evening (March 17th) and returning on the 21st. UCI Delegation will leave campus at 6:30 pm on Thursday to fly out to DC and will return Monday after 9:00 pm. This summit will take place the week of finals, so please make sure you are able to attend before submitting an application. This conference will entail students to be present every day, become invested, and be engaged as a representative of the Anteater community. There will be issue-based workshops to learn about current issues affecting students, strategy sessions to collectively discuss, develop, and prioritize issues, and skill-building exercises on advocacy, direct action organizing and leadership skills. We will have delegation meetings prior to attending the summit to prepare and strategize for effective lobbying. Applications are due by February 12th, 5:00 PM.
