Mental Health –  Mental Health and Hunger and Homelessness

🐜 🗓️ Hi Anteaters! As part of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, we, the Mental Health Commission, want to shed light on the crucial intricacies between basic needs and mental health and wellbeing.

Struggling with food security or facing homelessness can severely impact academic performance, trigger mental health issues, reduce sleep quality, and lead to a host of other severe consequences for students.

If you’re grappling with these challenges, remember you are not alone. Our campus is equipped with resources ready to support you, including the UCI Basic Needs Center, the Center for Student Wellness & Health Promotion, the UCI Counseling Center and more.

Explore the array of ASUCI student-led commissions under the Office of the President, tackling issues from Food Security to Financial Wellness and Housing Security. For more details on all eight OP commissions and to stay updated on our events, look for our biweekly newsletter on your UCI email and visit this link: https://buff.ly/40MOE6v!

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about your mental health, an event you’d like to see on campus, a condition you would like us to publicize, or if you’d like just to chat, please email us at mentalhealth@asuci.uci.edu 💙💜
