Personal Facts/Passions:
Hi! My name is Serin Kim, and I’m a third-year Business Administration major at Paul Merage School of Business with an emphasis on Organization and Management and a minor in Education. I’m passionate about student advocacy, mentorship, and creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels seen and supported! Fun fact, I’m a campus rep for UCI so you may see me giving tours to visitors occasionally! Outside of class, I love hammocking in Aldrich Park, going on beach picnics, and trying new cafés around the area!
Why did you join ASUCI?:
I joined ASUCI because I believe in the power of student voices! I also wanted to represent Merage students and help strengthen the connection between our school and the broader UCI community. Merage has a really unique and independent culture, which I think a lot of students value. At the same time, that strong internal focus can sometimes mean fewer touchpoints with campus-wide opportunities or student government. I want to help maintain Merage’s distinct identity while also building bridges that make it easier for students to engage with everything UCI has to offer
Goals for 2024-2025:
As the newly appointed Business Senator, my main goal is to close the communication gap between Merage students, faculty, and the broader UCI community! I want to increase awareness of leadership opportunities and strengthen student engagement by making resources more accessible and visible. I also plan to collaborate with MUSA, Merage faculty, and ASUCI to create more interactive, student-centered initiatives that promote career readiness, equity, and campus integration. Most importantly, I want to ensure that Merage students feel empowered to speak up and shape their own academic experience! :)
