Personal Facts/Passions:
I am an international student from Vietnam who values balance between academic life and personal interests. In my free time, I enjoy baking and cooking, both as a way to unwind and as a way to connect with friends. I also enjoy skiing and spending time exploring new places, which helps me reset and gain perspective outside of school. Alongside these interests, I care deeply about community building, learning from diverse perspectives, and contributing to environments where students feel supported, included, and heard.
Why did you join ASUCI?:
I joined ASUCI because I wanted to be part of the process that shapes student life at UCI. As a student, I saw how decisions made at the administrative level can have a real impact on students’ daily experiences, but I also noticed that many students feel disconnected from those decisions. ASUCI gave me the opportunity to bridge that gap by listening to students, bringing their concerns forward, and working collaboratively on solutions. Being part of ASUCI has shown me that student government can be a practical tool for change when it is grounded in student needs and accountability.
Goals:
My goal for the 2025–2026 term is to make ASUCI more visible, accessible, and responsive to students across campus. I want to help strengthen communication between students and the administration so student concerns are addressed earlier and more effectively. I also hope to continue improving transparency around student fees and funding, while advocating for clearer processes that make it easier for student organizations to plan events and access resources. Most importantly, I want to ensure that ASUCI reflects the diverse experiences of UCI students and actively works to support those who may feel overlooked or unsure of where to turn for help.
