Personal Facts/Passions:

I’m a transfer student from Norco College and a first-generation, non-traditional college student. I’m also a UC Irvine College Corps Fellow, which fits perfectly with my passion for helping others.

In my free time, I enjoy trivia, reading, hiking, and running. I’m a big fan of Boston sports teams and love going to the beach. I’m a coffee aficionado who likes exploring local coffee shops and a Disney adult who frequently goes to the Happiest Place on Earth. I’m always up for new adventures and meeting new people.

Why did you join ASUCI?:

I joined ASUCI because I have a strong background in student leadership and a passion for advocacy. At my previous college, I was the Student Trustee for the Riverside Community College District, which gave me experience in representing students and working on educational policies. I knew I wanted to continue this work at ASUCI.

Last year, I worked as a staffer for the Internal Organizing Commission under the External Vice President’s Office. Through this role, I attended several conferences organized by the UC Student Association, which helped me better understand student issues across the UC system. I enjoy being an advocate and giving a voice to those who might not be heard, so joining ASUCI felt like the perfect way to continue that work.

Goals for 2024-2025:

1. Improve Support for Transfer Students: Build a strong relationship with the UC Irvine Transfer Student Center and collaborate with the ASUCI Transfer Student Support Commission. Together, we will create programs and resources to help transfer students adjust to campus life, including workshops on academic planning and career development, as well as networking events to build a supportive community.

2. Boost Communication and Engagement: Organize regular town hall meetings and encourage transfer students to attend Senate meetings to voice their concerns. This will help ensure their feedback is heard and addressed effectively.

3. Advocate for Better Resources: Work on securing more financial aid options, improving academic advising, and promoting programs that make the transition to campus life smoother for transfer students.
