[2026-2027 Student Programming Commission] Speakers Coordinator Application (Due Friday, 5/29, at 11:59 PM)
A Speakers Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing events that bring influential voices and thought leaders to speak directly with the UCI student body. Through these events, the division encourages students to participate in meaningful discussions about issues impacting the undergraduate community as well as broader societal topics. By hosting engaging and high-profile speakers, the Speakers division aims to spark dialogue, broaden perspectives, and generate excitement across the student community.
The Speakers Coordinator will:
- Plan and execute SPC speaker events, such as, but not limited to, ZotTalks.
- Facilitate the recruitment of notable figures, both academic and non-academic, to speak to UCI students.
- Promote student involvement at UCI through these events that are hosted.
- Encourage a positive intern and office dynamic.
- Host weekly commission meetings to discuss event programming.
- Attend weekly SPC leadership meetings and weekly All-Staff meetings
- Uphold professional and effective communication with professional staff to facilitate productive event programming.
- Fulfill all required and assigned duties of a coordinator from the SPC and Chief of Staff in a timely manner.
- Uphold an inclusive, welcoming environment in the Office of SPC and in the areas that its events extend.
