STUDENT HEALTH & WELLNESS

Commission Mission

The Student HealthWellness Commission is focused on advocating for various topics in health and wellness such as mental health, sexual health, nutrition, disability, alcohol/drug use, and more! We aim to partner with on-campus resource centers such as the CARE Office, Center for Student Wellness and Health Promotion, etc. to make resources needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle rightfully accessible to all. Our primary goals this year are planning and hosting events to educate and inspire a culture of health and wellbeing on campus, destigmatizing various topics to cultivate a safe campus community. We also aim to continue the HEALTH class to empower students to take control of their personal health! Popular events we’ve hosted in the past include Gra-Tea-Tude Journaling, Sip-n-String, and Positive Reflections, where we hosted a gratitude-centered journaling session, made friendship bracelets, and created affirmation jars! We hope that through hosting these events, students are empowered and encouraged to live healthier and happier lifestyles.

Commission Goals:

  1. Promote a culture of physical and emotional wellbeing on campus
  2. Host workshops and seminars centered around health and wellness
  3. Successfully administer the HEALTH class
  4. Encourage and promote a balanced lifestyle for students in their college life including but not limited to: nutrition, sleep, time-management, stress, spiritual health, mental health, disabilities, and sexual health
  5. Destigmatize various topics of health and wellness to cultivate a safe, inclusive campus community
  6. Bring to light the resources on campus available to provide help to students
