BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES SENATOR SALAZAR

Personal Facts/Passions:

I love staying active and spending time outdoors, whether that means swimming, playing tennis, or going on hikes to recharge. I’m also a big animal person and have both a bunny and a cat who keep life fun and a little chaotic. I’m passionate about building meaningful connections with others and creating spaces where people feel supported, especially within academic environments. At the same time, I’m really interested in biology and healthcare, and I enjoy finding ways to connect those interests with helping my community.

Why did you join ASUCI?:

I joined ASUCI because I wanted to be more involved in shaping the student experience and making sure people feel heard and represented. I’ve always valued community, and I saw ASUCI as an opportunity to turn that into action by advocating for students and contributing to positive change. Being part of ASUCI allows me to connect with others who care about making a difference, while also giving me the chance to grow as a leader and better understand the needs of my peers.

Goals:

My goal is to help create a more connected and supportive environment for students, especially within the biological sciences community. I want to improve access to resources and make sure students feel comfortable reaching out for both academic and personal support. I also hope to promote initiatives that encourage balance, whether that’s through wellness efforts or community-building events. Ultimately, I want to leave a positive impact by helping make campus feel more inclusive, engaging, and responsive to student needs.
