Office Mission
The Office of the Student Advocate General (SAG) is an independent and neutral branch of ASUCI, committed to ensuring transparency from our student government and implementing support structures for students navigating the University’s policies in a number of different areas – from student conduct to financial aid. Our office dedicates our time to enhancing the efficiency and efficacy of ASUCI, holding our officials fiscally and ethically accountable to the organization’s core mission of serving the student body.
Please note that the Office of the Student Advocate General does not replace or substitute for formal grievance, investigative, or appeal processes made available by the University. Additionally, the Office does not have any authority to make decisions or enact policy on behalf of ASUCI.
The Office of the Student Advocate General is empowered by Article IX of the ASUCI Constitution.

Confidentiality
Please note that the Office of the Student Advocate General is not legally required to maintain confidentiality. Though in most cases, the Student Advocate General will practice confidentiality with any information disclosed under the ASUCI Student Advocate General Policies & Procedures, students should be aware that state law mandates that information be appropriately shared if you are in imminent harm to yourself or to others, when there is an indication of child or elder abuse, or if you have a disability of significant consequence, as defined by the State of California.
Impartiality
The Office of the Student Advocate General is a neutral body within ASUCI and does not represent the University or individuals in matters brought to its attention.
