Hello fellow Anteaters, it’s nice to meet you! :D
My name is Ada Wang, and I’m a 1st year Biological Sciences major on the pre-med track, but I’m hoping to specialize in Human Biology later in my academic journey. I’m more than excited to be your Deputy Elections Commissioner for Event Coordination for the 2024-2025 academic year.
My time in high school involved a wide range of experiences, such as being Secretary of the D&D Club, an active member of our school’s National Honor Society chapter, and volunteering at the local SPCA shelter as a Canine Companion & Enrichment Coordinator. Having the opportunity to be involved in the community is always something I’ve sought after, so I’m looking forward to having the chance to expand my growth as a leader and public speaker, but also getting to know my fellow Anteaters better!
Now that I’m at UCI, I’m thrilled to continue participating in the student body leadership program here and continue my growth as your Deputy Election Commissioner for Event Coordination. My main responsibility is to organize elections-related events/logistics and develop new ones that any UC Irvine student can participate in. I hope to foster a collaborative environment with many fun and accessible events for all members of the student body to enjoy. Through this, my goal is to connect the student body and encourage a tight-knit community on campus, eventually aiming to increase student involvement and engagement in our events!
Some things I do outside of my commitments to the student body in the ASUCI Elections Commission are strolling around campus to enjoy the views. I love to read books of all genres, though mainly science fiction and fantasy. I also like to draw and do other arts and crafts, the latest being adventures into making cool trinkets out of wire and resin. Additionally, I enjoy playing video games and trying new foods, especially from all different cultures. If you see me around campus or would like to chat about anything, be it elections-related or something else, feel free to say hi!
Looking forward to a great year with everyone. Zot, zot, zot! ^-^
