Hi! My name is Lizzie Braver (she/her/hers) and I am very excited to serve as a Co-Commissioner for the Sustainability Project Commission for the 2024-2025 academic year! I am a fourth-year social ecology major with a minor in global sustainability. My passion for sustainability and addressing environmental challenges comes from the perspective of social and behavioral science. I am specifically interested in conducting and leveraging psychological research to better understand and address the human-caused climate issues we are facing. While this is my first involvement with ASUCI and the IVP, I am deeply committed to maintaining and growing a community around sustainability on campus. As a student who has benefited from the many amazing sustainability opportunities on campus and has always taken pride in the innovative sustainability work UC Irvine engages in, I look forward to continuing and expanding those opportunities for future students as well.

Hi! My name is Haley Towns (she/her) and I am super excited to be one of the Co-Commisioners for the Sustainability Project Commission for the 2024-2025 school year! I am a third year double major in English and History with a minor in Humanities and Law. Despite my majors not aligning with sustainability, my strong interest drives me towards advocating for climate action, and I aspire to become an environmental lawyer to promote greater sustainability efforts in the future. I was lucky enough to serve as an intern for the commission last year, where I was able to increase my knowledge about the UC Irvine community as well as sustainable action and make efforts toward supporting campus-wide sustainability. I loved my time as an intern, and the opportunities I have had to practice dedicated climate-focused actions. I am very excited to take an even larger role in the upcoming school year to both maintain UCI’s current sustainability efforts, and implement new ideas that will promote a furthermore environmentally conscious community.
