The Athletic Engagement Commission will utilize the support of the Office of the Student Services Vice President to host events that will appeal to the diverse student population of UC Irvine and engage with UC Irvine Athletics to highlight not only the sports in the spotlight, but those that are underrepresented. In order to ensure this is possible, there will be continuous open communication with the student body about upcoming athletic events on campus and encourage our Anteaters to be involved in participating at these athletic events. With all this in mind, Athletic Engagement is viewed to be a platform to spotlight athletes/athletic teams by creating a program, with fellow students, that encourages athletic spirit here at UCI. The Athletic Engagement Commission plans and hosts events that promote student athletes in collaboration with UC Irvine Athletics.
